CET Vietnamese Studies & Service-Learning in Ho Chi Minh City
Vietnamese Studies & Service-Learning in Ho Chi Minh City
CET Vietnam provides an intensive immersion environment for students with an interest in Vietnamese language and culture. The program offers a unique combination of service-learning, area studies courses and Vietnamese language classes. In addition, students live with Vietnamese roommates, allowing them a window to Vietnamese culture out-of-reach to most of the country's other visitors.
One of the hallmarks of the CET Vietnam program is the opportunity for service-learning placement. CET has cultivated partnerships with many local organizations and worked together to design a service-learning experience that allows for extensive interaction with the local community. CET's Resident Director arranges these volunteer opportunities, which may include working at an orphanage, volunteering at a local school, working with people who are disabled, or contributing to one of the many international NGO's operating in the city.
New in 2011! CET is now pleased to offer the new elective Environmental Sustainability in Vietnam. This course examines environmental development and sustainability in Vietnam from a number of perspectives. Click here to learn more about this course and others!
