Anthony C. Ogden Dr. Ogden will serve as the interim director for the program. He is a career international educator and scholar, with nearly 20 years experience working with U.S. students studying abroad. He earned his bachelor's degree from Berea College and then later studied at the School for International Training (SIT) where he earned his master's degree in International and Intercultural Management (MIIM). He earned his Ph.D. at The Pennsylvania State University in Educational Theory and Policy with a dual title in Comparative and International Education in 2010. Dr. Ogden is an active member of NAFSA: Association of International Educators and The Forum on Education Abroad.
Dr. Ogden has lived in Kyushu for three years and in Tokyo for over seven years. This will be his first time living in Osaka and he looks forward to exploring this fascinating region of Japan with CET students and learning a bit of "Kansai-Ben."
Yumi Fukunaga Fukunaga-sensei received a certificate in Teaching Japanese as a Second Language from Showa Women's University in Tokyo. Since 2000, she has taught at Gakkou houjin Horizon International School in Yokohama, Tokyo International School, and Same Language School-Tokyo and is dedicated to "teaching my students the Japanese language and continuing to think of new and exciting ways to help them learn." She joined CET in 2010 as the lead teacher for the beginner classes (JPN103, JPN 103).
Satomi Tsujii Tsujii-Sensei received an BA from Otani University. She has taught privately and at the University of Durham in England, Mainichi Bunka Center in Osaka, and Jonan High School in Osaka since 1987. She is skilled in Japanese arts such as calligraphy and paper crafts. She joined CET in 2010 as the lead teacher for the intermediate classes (JPN203, JPN213).
Yoko Mori Mori-sensei holds an MA in Teaching of Japanese as a Foreign Language from San Francisco State University. She taught at Georgia State University and Agnes Scott College in Georgia among others and boasts extensive experience teaching Japanese as well as teaching English in Japan. She joined CET in 2010 as the lead teacher for the advanced-intermediate classes (JPN303, JPN 313).
Sumiyo Mimori Mimori-sensei received a MEd with merit in Educational Psychology from the University of Sydney. She has over fifteen years of Japanese teaching experience at institutions in Japan and Australia including Macquarie University Japanese Studies department where she developed Japanese learning materials. She joined CET in 2010 as the head teacher and lead teacher for the advanced class (JPN403, 413).
